1.0 Experience
Ross Johnson started his web career in 1996 when he began building web sites while attending Ann Arbor Community High School. Johnson’s first paying client was local real estate firm Allen & Kwan Commercial in 1997.
Johnson continued to build his freelance web design, search engine marketing and internet marketing business while attending Eastern Michigan University. Johnson graduated with a BS degree in social science and a minor in business.
In 2004 Johnson formed his own company, 3.7 Designs and become a full time graphic designer, search engine marketing expert, and web designer. By 2007, 3.7 Designs had become a well-established firm with a large client base.
2.0 Outreach
In addition to founding 3.7 Designs, Johnson co-founded Refresh Detroit in 2005. Refresh Detroit is part of Refreshing Cities, the web design movement promoting the spread of usability, accessibility, and web standards. Johnson is Membership Chair of the Ann Arbor Ad Club, co-host of WebAxe, the Web Accessibility Podcast and host of the Web Marketing Podcast. Johnson will teach “Introduction to Interface Design” at Washtenaw Community College Spring 2008.
3.0 Freetime
When Johnson isn’t publishing web content and teaching about internet marketing he likes to spend time with his girlfriend Nicole. His favorite band is The Gorillaz, his favorite movie is Ocean’s 11 and his favorite food is Pad Thai. Johnson owns two cats, one of whom is blind.
